Ok so learning how to build solar panels from scratch isn’t quite like following your grandma’s recipe for sourdough biscuits; a pinch of this a pinch of that mix and bake. But it is pretty simple if you have the right ingredients and the right set of instructions. In fact if you really want to you could build and hook up an entire solar array for your home in less than a weekend.

So why do I suggest you get a guide?

Instead of just doing your research and figuring it out on your own? Well that really is a no brainer. There really is only one way to build solar panels. If you don’t wire them together correctly then they won’t work... Or worse they could hurt you or your home; and let’s face it no one wants to put in all that work to build something that they think will save them money and save the environment just to realize that they just burnt their house down because they were to lazy to buy the information that would help them do it the right way. Also a DIY solar guide will teach you where to get the parts cheaper than you could ever find on your own.

That’s the real kicker here. Buying everything that you will need to build your own solar panels from scratch will only cost you around $200. Imagine for only $200 you could have your whole home running off clean renewable energy for the rest of your life. Not to mention it raises the value of your home.

So why are commercial solar panels a bad investment?

Well stick with me for this one. Commercial solar panels are great.... but reality is they cost ALOT. Some can cost upwards of $2,000 per panel and that isn’t even including the batteries and other equipment needed to make them work.

If you move your investment doesn’t move with you.

If you move to a different home and you are using commercially bought solar panels then guess what you’re going to leave that investment that cost you thousands of dollars behind. With solar panels built from scratch you’re really not loosing that much... In fact the value they add to your home will more than likely offset the cost of building the panels in the first place. So in the end you’re the one who’s winning.

Then guess what? When you get to your new home you can just dust off your guide where you learned how to build solar panels from scratch and make a whole new system in a weekend for your new home. So where’s the down side to this? Well here’s one... you have to do some work to build them; but other than that, there really isn’t a down side to building solar panels.
